I recently acquired 4 nice pieces of early iron lighting from a local estate of a long-time collector.  I was super pleased to find this miniature sawtooth trammel among the collection.  These real early miniature trammels are especially hard to find that this one is a beauty.  I've given you lots of close up photos so you can see just how beautiful hand-wrought iron is.  There are quite a lot of fake iron pieces out there….be sure you buy from someone you trust.

This miniature marvel is about 8 3/4" when closed all the way and 12 1/2" when open to the max.  It would be so wonderful to hang a cruise or Betty lamp from (I have a nice one listed).  You could also hang hand-dipped candles from it or add an early multi-pronged hook (for instance, a meat hook) and a miniature basket collection.  Circa late 18th to early 19th century.
