Here is a lovely 19th century painted silhouette of a toddler that is just the thing to put in your loved one's stocking! It has some background staining that you can see in the photos. The light colored specks that you see on top of the figure are stray specks under the glass. The period wood frame is very handsome and measures 4 7/8" x 4 1/16". The wove paper on which it is painted has been laid down on cardboard. Circa 1st half of the 19th century.
