Back to Silhouettes

<Previous Item       Next Item>

It is rare to find full-length hollow cut silhouettes.  I've had only a tiny number of them pass through my hands in the 35+ years I've been collecting.  I'm pleased to offer this lovely pair of American full-length hollow cut silhouettes, circa 1840.  The artist added ink curls to this beautiful woman and the gentleman's clothing has intricately cut detail. The addition of the lady's parasol is extremely rare (especially a hollow cut one).  Both figures include watercolor wash backgrounds and are set atop silk moiré fabric.  You'd better grab these because you may not see another full-length hollow cut for many years to come!  In period frames measuring 9 1/2" x 11 1/2".
