Back to Silhouettes

<Previous Item       Next Item>

Wonderfully American silhouette with a head and body below the lapel being hollow cut while the area of the shirt, cravat and lapel have been uncut as part of the background paper and then drawn and painted in.  This is a well done silhouette in a desirable folk art form that is purely American.  Circa 1830.  The wonderful brass spandrel frame measures 4 ½” x 5 ¼”. There is a slight water stain at about 9 o’clock.

(#4013)    $495
