Adorable cut & paste silhouette of young girl with a painted bouquet of flowers and a sepia watercolor ground that includes a patterned pavement and a few plants in the far background.  This lovely little girl is lightly embellished with Chinese White and a bit of gum arabic for heightening.  She is housed in a period frame, paint decorated to resemble rosewood, with a gilt liner.  The frame measures 5 1/8" x 6 7/8" and has a bit of scuffing up the right corner which has been darkened to blend. First half of the 19th century.
