Wonderful circa 1830 American hollow cut in a unique American style found frequently in New England.  The head is hollow cut as is the shoulder.  The white of the gentleman's shirt, collar and coat lapel remain uncut from the background paper with detail painted in by the artist.  The tiny oval that you see below the figure (where you might expect to see an embossed signature) is a wonderful big bubble in the early glass.  In a period half-round gilt frame measuring 4" x 5".  A beautiful piece of American folk art!

(#3844)      $450
