Lovely painted silhouette of a lovely lady.  This silhouette is special for its painted detail as well as for the ornate gilt metal surround of its original papier mâché frame.  The 6 1/2" x 7 1/2" frame is bit larger than the usual and makes this lady a wonderful display.  There is a small waterstain at 7 o'clock and a bit of foxing....neither of which show nearly as much in person as they are accented by the camera.  Circa 1830.
