Cut & paste silhouette by the great master silhouettist Augustin Edouart bearing trade label no. 4 which he used in 1828 while living and working in Cambridge.  This sitter was, no doubt, a scholar from Cambridge.  As always, the detail in the silhouette is exquisite!  In a period ebonized reeded frame measuring 8 3/8" x 11 3/8".
