Folky watercolor profile of a woman with an aubergine-colored dress, blue sash and blue ribbons in her white bonnet.  She resides inside of a verre églomisé glass mat and a period frame wonderfully paint decorated to look like rosewood.  The photo makes it look as if she has a couple of beauty marks on her cheek....it was merely a couple of specks inside the glass which are now cleaned away (please forgive my haste in getting things uploaded as quickly as possible and not retaking the photo!).  Framed size is 6 1/2" x 6 3/8".  The back of the frame has a later label identifying her as "Anne Walton Salkfeld M Ralph Salkfeld 1820".  I have my doubts of the inscription's relationship to this painting which is circa 1830.  Of course, this might be Mrs. Salkfeld painted after she had been married for ten years.
