	Wonderful circa 1790-1800 oil on canvas of young gentleman seated in low-backed upholstered chair. Reputedly from a North Carolina estate—I think he looks like a contemporary of Thomas Jefferson. The period 16 1/2” x 18 1/2” silver gilt frame sets off the colors of the painting exquisitely! Lined at the edges of the original canvas. (#3790)      $1850
