This dapper gentleman has hung in my bedroom gallery for a number of years, but alas, like most things in my collection, he is being pushed out by something new to my eyes.  He is dressed for evening with his short waist coat under his jacket with tails.  The hounds-tooth pattern of his trousers is echoed by the checked pattern of the floor.  He holds his top hat and walking stick as he prepares to leave for his night on the town.  His blue eyes are stunning. Watercolor on card, circa 1840, some browning to the paper.  He is housed in a period mahogany or rosewood veneer half-round profiled frame with gilt liner that measures 12" x 15 1/2".
