Lovely watercolor portrait of a young girl with low cut empire dress
and a loosely wrapped shawl. This lovely teenage girl sits in a
curved back chair as she gazes seriously at the viewer. The back
has an inscription saying ""Rosa Barth___t sent to me by her Mother,
L[orT]Sybron[?]". The painting is signed Deyon or Degon or Dagon
and dated 1818. There is light discoloring throughout the painting
which does not distract from the beauty of the girl nor the quality of
this high quality
naïve portrait. In a rosewood frame measuring 5 3/4" x 6
3/4". The frame has a ding in the lower right corner. (#3962) $695
