"Mifs Fanny Turner, aged 2 years, Mar 18, 1852" is from my collection and she is a real doll.  This wonderfully naïve watercolor portrait shows Mifs Fanny in front of her house (I love the skewed perspective) and holding what appears to be a rose.  The artist highlighted Fanny's face, arms, legs, sash and the foreground with gum arabic which has just a touch of craquelere.  The rosewood veneer frame measures 7 1/4" x 7 1/2" and is held together with four handmade flat head screws which have left good oxidation in the surrounding wood.  I suppose that the frame may have been cut down to fit Mifs Fanny, but if so, it was long, long ago.  The inscription is on the back of the card and since the old backboard broke, I have left the inscription uncovered as you can see in one of the photos below.
