Exceptional folk art oil on paper-board of young boy with his pet cat, drum, and hat. An angel can be seen in the distant garden through the window. The low frill over the skeleton suit dates this extraordinary painting to circa 1795.  The frilled collar on the skeleton suit was worn by boys beginning in the late 18th century.  The short hair, combed towards the fact dates this painting to 1795.
