American pewter porringer with a hearts in the handle.  The bellied bowl with a boss or slight dome in the center of a flat bottom has a  3 1/4" diameter. The porringer measures 5" to the tip of the handle and stands 1 1/8" tall. Probably New England, 1800-1830.  See Montgomery, Charles F., A History of American Pewter.  E.P. Dutton New York, 1978 ed. 151.  Staining to inside and out. Handle is soldered to body, possibly as an old repair. Previous owner inscribed  the outside lip of the bowl with  and identification number.
