Very rare pair of 18th century pewter candlesticks with elegant styling.  These 11” candlesticks begin with a wide tulip shaped candle cup that is topped with an exaggerated bobeche.  The cup sits atop a fluted urn.  The urn, which is fluted top and bottom, sits atop a six-sided stem which displays a diamond on each side then steps down to a hexagonal stem which flares down to another fluted urn.  This urn sits upon a wider, fluted dome, which steps down to a hexagonally shaped base.  Each base bears the touchmark of a crowned X.  French, circa 1790.  Tiny, unobtrusive staining but exceptional patination.  This is an excellent pair of antique pewter candlesticks.

(#4644)     $675/pr

The last photo shows the three pairs of candlesticks that I'm adding today.  Be sure to check them all.
