An interesting and very country pair of 18th century pewter candlesticks with octagonal pan bases.  These little cuties are 6" tall with 4 1/2" bases.  The stems are beautifully turned baluster & rung.  The flared tops have some warping which shows how much they were loved and used--and adds to the charm.  The inside of the pan bases have an interesting which appears to have the initials "IA" at either end of a series of inscribed arrow-shaped marks.  Circa 1750.  Nice dark grey patina on the stems with a bit lighter on the inside of the pans.  Octagonal bases are a bit mishappen around the edges.

(#4949)   $275/pair
