Back to Paint Decoration

<Previous Item      Next Item>

American black painted Windsor stool with turned legs that pierce the rectangular plank seat and are wedged in place like early Windsor chair legs. Painted edging to the seat. 14" x 8 1/2" x 9 3/4" tall. Circa 1830. Seat and one leg are cracked which is reflected in the price. This is a great early decorative stool with a wonderful dry, probably original, painted surface and it can be used to display a special piece in your collection or even as a low chair-side table, but it cannot bear the weight of someone sitting on it.  It is very stable with no wobbles at all....but please bear the cracks in mind.  I have given you lots of close up photos below to show the condition.  Please email or call if you would like more photos or info.

#835     $135

You can see the crack along the lower part of the photo.  It runs about 2 inches inside the edge.
