| 19th century compartmentalized slide top candle box with original
black paint (it might be old oxidized green paint, but it looks black
now). Must have originally been hung on the wall by a leather
strap as the ends of the strap are still nailed to each side with
irregularly shaped nails. The interior of the box is lined with
early flannel fabric. This box has a great dry painted surface and
square nail construction throughout.
10" long x 6" wide x 3 1/2" tall.
