I am thrilled to offer this very special portrait bracelet, strung as it would have been circa 1790 when the piece was made.  The detail of the portrait is spectacular. Someone, likely her mother, loved this little girl greatly and, wanting to see her always, wore the child's portrait on her wrist. I had the original bracelet mount restrung with coral beads--the bracelet would have likely had coral for good luck or pearls. I have worn the bracelet to work and out on the town. It has a great feel and is extremely wearable and a real attention-getter.

The little girl appears to be 7 or 8 years old. Her low cut gauze-muslin dress and hairstyle date this lovely piece to the end of the 18th century. The portrait is only 1 9/16" x 1 1/4" (much smaller than the photo you are viewing). The bracelet measures about 7 1/2".

(#3198)      $3200
