American watercolor painting done with stencils in the manner of a theorem. Pair of grey birds with plum colored beaks facing each other (love birds?) Both perch from long yellow legs on tree limb with sponged greenery. Lightly laid (with two small bits of archival tape) onto acid free plum colored paper which is then laid onto hand marbled paper (made in the same manner as it has been made since the 1600s). Set into period paint decorated frame measuring 12 1/4" x 10 1/2"  Circa 1840.  Probably New England.
