Great antique watercolor miniature of rearing horse in full English dress.  This lovely little painting is done completely in sepia tones on wove thick paper (or thin card).  It has a sweet background of trees and some kind of structure in the background (though I'm not sure what kind).  I've had it floated on dark brown archival matboard and placed inside a period gilt frame liner that measures 6 1/8" x 4 3/4".  Sight size is 4 1/2" x 3 1/16".  As you can see in the photos, there is a little light staining to the paper.  It looks great paired with the yellow child's watercolor of a horse that I'm listing today.  Circa 1st quarter of the 19th century.

(#4603)     $375
