This is a lovely little scherenschnitte and pinprick Bible mark found in Pennsylvania.  It is very delicately cut and each part of the paper is pricked with pins for added interest.  It was likely but to real use.  There is some breakage in the paper as you can see in the photos and a few minor stains.  But this beautifully represents the Pennsylvania German tradition of scissor cutting.  It is placed (not glued or taped) onto black fabric and framed in a late 19th century black painted frame.  The Bible mark is circa 1850.  Framed size is 8" x 10".

(#1151)     $225
