This beautiful painting is really more along the lines of fine art rather than folk art, but I since I don't have a fine art category, it has to go here. This is an incredibly well-rendered late 19th century oil on homemade artist's board painting of an Inn in the snow. Detail shows 2 people in a carriage drawn by two horses and a man standing on the porch bidding them farewell. The artist cleverly added wisps of hair in the paint for the sky which gives it a swirling snowy feel. Framed in an incredible 13" x 16 1/2" gilt frame. The side of the frame is deeply coved and stands 2 1/4" from the wall.
