Wonderfully naïve 19th century schoolgirl genre watercolor painting of a girl blowing bubbles.  The young girl sits at the water's edge, leaning against a boulder as she holds a cup of soap in one hand and her bubble pipe in the other.  She wears a white muslin dress with a red-patterned scarf and matching red shoes.  Her long brown hair is drawn up to the top of her head where it falls in curls.  Signed illegibly in the lower right corner.  In a period gilt Sully-type frame measuring 10 1/4" x 7 1/2".  Circa 1810.

(#4191)     $1450
