Beautiful botanical watercolor signed Silverstra Tontan (my best guess at the script) and dated 1862. This wonderful painting was apparently a bookplate as it is hand-marked N13. Framed in a period lemon gilt frame measuring 11" x 13 1/2" and backed by hand-marbled paper made in the same method as 18th and 19th century bookend papers. (#1526)      $295
